We are a small, independent family operation — Christopher Dougan and Elizabeth Ann Blair — with over three decades of combined hospitality experience across London, Paris, Singapore, and Scotland.
We don't run venues from a distance. We are in the kitchen, behind the bar, and on the floor. Every decision we make — from the supplier we choose to the dish we put on the menu — is made with intention and with our guests at the centre of it.
The Rams Head is our next chapter. A National Pub & Bar Award-winning team bringing a clear, considered vision to one of Maryhill's most enduring locals.

Whole-animal Scottish grills, heritage pub classics, and a bar that champions great beer and proper whisky. Aspirational in quality, never alienating in price.
Built to Last
Our full refurbishment programme covers kitchen, bar, dining room, and terrace — designed with Victorian character, warm materials, and the Forth & Clyde industrial heritage as our guide.
We want The Rams Head to be a place where Maryhill regulars feel at home the moment they walk in, and where anyone crossing the city for a meal feels like they've found something worth the journey.

The Refurbishment
Kitchen
14m² service kitchen with full cook line, theatrical chargrill visible from the dining room, and a dedicated prep room — built for whole-animal cookery and honest Scottish grills.
Bar
Mirrored gantry, brass foot rail, bag hangers — a proper pub bar. New timber flooring, period tile surrounds, and a Heineken draught lineup backed by craft Scottish ales and a serious whisky selection.
Dining Room
64m² country-themed dining space with Trossachs wall mural, banquette seating, warm oak flooring, button-back tan leather booths, and brass pendant lighting throughout.
Terrace
Licensed outdoor terrace at 51.1m × 11.7m — refreshed hard-standing, festoon lighting, mixed-height barrel and table seating. Scotland's weather permitting, one of Glasgow's finest beer gardens.

Keys in Hand
We have officially taken ownership of The Rams Head, Maryhill Road, Glasgow. The building is ours — the work begins. Full structural and design assessment underway this week.
Refurbishment Plans Confirmed
Our Capex programme is finalised. Works will cover a full kitchen fit-out with theatrical chargrill, bar refurbishment with mirrored gantry and brass rail, a 64m² country-themed dining room with Trossachs mural and banquette seating, and a refreshed licensed terrace for 185 persons.
Opening Date to Follow
We will announce our reopening date once the refurbishment programme is on track. Watch this space — we'll be sharing progress photos, supplier introductions, and a first look at the new interior.
